You ask me the most interesting thing to do in Rwanda. My answer is a simple interacting with Rwandese, dancing their dances, eating their food, listening to their stories, helping in their farms. They are the most humble, happy, welcoming and loving people in the whole world. I won’t tell you Rwanda has the most beautiful ladies in the planet. You will see it for yourself. Rwandese is are full of laughter and fun. Get talking with Rwandese and you find you have forgotten your troubles. You just want to stay with them. That said I am wondering why you cant take a guide to keep you company and show you around.

Everything in Rwanda is interesting. The country is beautifully crafted, hills upon green hills cover the whole county. It’s soo beautiful. It’s the God’s bedroom. Rwandese believe that God spends the day roaming the world but retires to sleep in Rwanda. Driving is a real challenge as roads are series of sharp almost circular beds. Whether you book our car or go with someone else I would love to hear your opinion on Rwanda.
Kigali (voted the cleanest green city in the world) an interesting artistic modern city alone has lots of hidden gems to keep you busy. Lots of specialty restaurants featuring international and local cuisine, colourful markets cultural centres, curio shops. Top in the list of places to visit in Kigali is the Genocide Memorial of Gisozi where you learn the history of Rwanda from pre colonial to present day with emphasis on the making genocide. For more history in founding of the modern Rwanda visit the Richard Khadt’s Museum and the recently opened Presidential Palace. Even more interesting is the Muslim quarter of Nyamirambo.
Gorilla Trekking is the undisputed number one attraction in Rwanda. Personally I put Nyungwe Forest as the number one in uniqueness. Here is the source of the River Nile and an encounter with our closest relatives – the chimpanzees. On the way to Nyungwe visit the King’s palace in Nyanza (Huye) and the Museum of Butare. Butare too hosts the National University, a beautiful cathedral and a botanical garden. Here too you find an important handcraft factory.
Another not to miss in Rwanda are the lakeside resorts of Kibuye and Rubavu (Gisenyi) with boat rides and visits to the islands.
There are lots of amazing things to see and do in Rwanda. You cannot exhaust them within your 8 days. Volcanoes Park alone offers lots of hiking opportunities. Besides gorilla Trekking you can hike the Volcanoes of Bisoke, Karisimbi or visits the red colobus monkeys. In the vicinity are lakes Burela and Ruhondo with unique cultural tourism program.

Gorilla safaris can be organized from Kilimanjaro airport
Day 1: From Kilimanjaro to Kigali
On this day you are expected at the Kilimanjaro International Airport 2 hours prior to departure of your flight to Kigali. If you are in one of our organized safaris in Northern Tanzania, we drive you from the park in the morning to arrive at Arusha at mid day where day rooms are organized for you to refreshing. From Arusha we drive you to the airport to catch your flight. There are three departures from Kilimanjaro (JRO) to Kigali (KGL) all operated by Rwandair Express. Flights departs on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays as follows
Arrival at Kigali
On arrival at Kigali, your driver guide will meet you and drive you to your hotel for overnight- Lemio hotel / Kigali Serena Hotel BB
Day2 Kigali City Tour And Drive To Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast you are met by your driver guide who will take you for Kigali city tour. Visit various attractions, have your lunch and finally visit Genocide Memorial and drive to Kinigi the base of Gorilla Tracking. The drive via one of the most scenic road with plenty of photography opportunities. If you spot anything of interest ask the driver to stop. Dinner and overnight at La Palme at Musanze/ Ruhengeri (Budget), Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Mid Range or Sabyinyo Silver Back Lodge ( Luxury)
Day3: Gorilla trekking Safari – Volcanoes national park Rwanda
An early morning breakfast is followed by a drive to Kinigi Park Headquarters for group allocation and briefing. You must be arrive not later than 07:00 Hrs. Depending on the group allocated tracking may take 2 hours minimum or even 7 hours . Pack your picnic lunch and enough water. Carry at least 4 liters of water. If you desire to track a particular group arrive earlier than all and make a formal request. Do not hesitate to take a complimentary cup of Rwanda coffee served at the park headquarters. After briefing get back to your vehicle and drive trail head. Sometimes you might walk from park headquarters depending on where your group is located. Cars are left at the trail heads with your driver. From trail heads hike up to the bamboo zone and search for gorilla signs. Gorilla make their nests every night. The moment you notice these, you should know the gorillas are near. Follow the instructions of your guide. On sighting stay with gorillas for one hour and hike back to your cars. Drive back to your hotel. After lunch, tour the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at La Palme at Ruhengeti (Budget), Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/ Gorilla Nest (Mid Range or Sabyinyo Silver Back Lodge ( Luxury)
Day4: Gorilla Tracking 2 At Volcanoes National Park
Breakfast and drive to park headquarters for guide allocation and briefing. Your driver guide will make sure you arrive not later than 07:00 Hrs. Just like previous day, you are briefed and driven to track another group of gorillas. After the hike, return to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon drive to Gisenyi on the shores of lake Kivu for overnight. Overnight at Kivu Serena Hotel (Mid Range/ Luxury) or Malahide Paradise Hotel (Budget)
Day 5: Drive to Kigali
Breakfast and drive back to Kigali to catch your afternoon flight home.

Lake Nakuru Lodge
Lake Nakuru National Park or Game Park is an ornithological paradise located two hours drive, 156 Kilometers west of Nairobi on the floor of Rift valley. The park dates back to 1961 when the southern park of the lake was gazetted as a bird to protect the “greatest bird (ornithological) spectacle on earth“, for the future generations. In 1964, the whole of the lake was declared a bird sanctuary. in 1968, the Lake Nakuru shores were added into the sanctuary and the whole area was upgraded to a National Park. In 1974 a northern extension was added to the park increasing its area to the current 188 Km2. In 1990 Lake Nakuru Game Park is a designated a Ramsar site– for protection of an important international wetland.
Accommodation in Lake Nakuru National is diverse to cater for different categories of visitors. Visitors have a choice of either sleeping inside the park or outside the park. Inside the park, there are two safari lodges, one tented camp, a private house , Kws bandas and public campsites. The two safari lodges in the park are Lake Nakuru Lodge and Lion Hill Lodge. The two facilities offer mid range to luxury accommodation to their guests. The only truly mid range property in the park is the Flamingo Hills Tented Camp. Kws bandas and campsites offer budget alternatives to locals and tourists alike. Nakuru town has both mid range and budget hotels to cater for visitors.
